# Docpass

> Permit document validation for Swiss architects, general contractors, and construction firms.
> We collect supplier documents, validate them against canton requirements (MuKEn 2014, VKF, SIA 380/1, EN 14351-1), and package a Bauamt-ready dossier.

Docpass automates the document-collection side of a Swiss **Baugesuch** (building permit application). It is built for the Swiss market specifically — every cantonal Wegleitung is encoded, every Norm (SIA, VKF, MuKEn) is referenced, every Schweizer Eigenheit handled.

## What Docpass does

1. **Canton-aware checklist.** The user enters canton, project type, building use, heat source. Docpass generates the exact document list the Bauamt will ask for, pulled from the cantonal Wegleitung (currently ZH and BS).
2. **Two-track document collection.**
   - *Track 1 — Product library:* Pre-curated catalogue of 33 Swiss-market Declarations of Performance (Flumroc insulation, Rockwool, EgoKiefer windows, Internorm, Swisspearl/Eternit cladding, 4B Fenster). User picks the product they're using, document attaches in one click. No email sent.
   - *Track 2 — Supplier upload:* For project-specific documents (Lärmschutznachweis, Brandschutzkonzept, Energienachweis SIA 380/1, structural proofs), the user enters the supplier's email, Docpass sends a magic upload link, supplier uploads PDFs without an account.
3. **LLM validation.** Every uploaded PDF is parsed by Claude. Technical fields (U-value, λ-value, fire class per EN 13501-1, dB(A) per LSV) are extracted and compared against the canton's current MuKEn 2014 thresholds. The supplier gets a green checkmark or a specific list of issues to fix.
4. **Dossier export.** One click downloads a zip with a cover PDF (project summary + per-doc validation result + canton rule references) and every fulfilled document organised by checklist position. Ready to submit to eBaugesucheZH or OBG Basel-Stadt.

## Why this matters

The Swiss permit timeline has grown 67% since 2010 (source: Zürcher Kantonalbank, April 2023). In the City of Zurich, the average permit now takes 330 days. A missing CE mark or wrong U-value triggers a **Nachforderung** during the **Vorprüfung** — the review clock resets, often for documents the supplier had in their inbox the whole time. Docpass eliminates that class of delay.
